Santiago.- The Second Collegiate Court of this jurisdiction, at the request of the Public Ministry, imposed sentences of 20, 15, 10 and 7 years for the five accused of aggravated human trafficking, money laundering and other crimes in the process known as Casa Blanca Night Club. .

The criminal group received a sentence for having subsumed its conduct in Law 137-03, on Illicit Smuggling of Migrants and Trafficking in Persons, Law 72-02 on Laundering of Assets from Illicit Trafficking of Drugs and other Controlled Substances and other serious Offenses , as well as Law 36 on Commerce, Bearing and Possession of Weapons.

The Public Ministry said that it presented evidence of different natures that allowed it to prove that the members of the disjointed criminal organization were dedicated to capturing, transporting, transferring, receiving and sheltering women in extremely vulnerable conditions from countries such as Colombia and Venezuela.

Women were sexually exploited, in addition to being subjected to conditions of coercion and threats, affecting the dignity of these victims, to profit from their exploitation.

In handing down the sentence, the court, made up of judges Osvaldo Castillo, president, Esther Reyes and Luis Ernesto Torres, emphasized the seriousness of human trafficking, and the importance of protecting and safeguarding the rights of the victims of this crime.
