The Clausura tournament is delayed a week due to problems with the VAR

It was seen coming. The Closing tournament that was to start this Friday, June 24 it is delayed a week in its beginning due to inconveniences in the implementation of the VAR, as agreed by the Superior Council of the Professional Division, after meeting virtually this Thursday morning.

Just one day before kick-off for the second tournament of the year, the Superior Council decided to delay it until next weekend on the recommendation of the company Mediaduccion Bolivia SRL (Mediapro), which sent a letter to the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) arguing inconveniences to implement the VAR.

“Through this letter we want to inform that the company Mediaduccion Bolivia SRL is carrying out all the necessary steps so that Bolivian soccer can count on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) service since the second championship of the first Professional Division of Bolivia in the management 2022; however, for reasons of force majeure and supervening impossibility as established in clause 7 of the contract that we have signed, we are going through an inconvenience (not a serious one) regarding the importation and customs clearance of the promised equipment according to the contract, specifically clause 6.6, so this inconvenience would delay our operations in Bolivia for a few days, so we comply with formal notification in a timely and timely manner”, says part of the letter that Mediapro sent to the FBF.

In addition to the reasons explained by Mediapro, there are also drawbacks with some scenarios that do not meet the requirements for the implementation of the VAR.
