Moscow and Havana discuss progress of joint projects in Cuba

(EFE).- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borísov discussed this Wednesday in the Russian capital the progress of joint projects in Cuba with Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas.

Borísov recalled that Moscow and Havana are currently working on the modernization of the metallurgical company Antillana de Acero José Martí, with an advance of 85%.

In addition, he reported on the conclusion of the first stage of the supply of trains and railway technological equipment to Cuba. “The supply of wheat on commercial terms is being discussed,” the Russian deputy prime minister added.

Both governments devoted special attention to prioritized joint projects and the increase in tourist flow

In their conversation, the representatives of both governments devoted special attention to the prioritized joint projects and the increase in the tourist flow.

“The world is going through very difficult times, there is a restructuring of the entire global system of international relations,” Borisov said during his welcoming remarks to the Cuban delegation.

The deputy prime minister referred to the “boomerang effect of the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the US and European countries” that is already being felt in their own economies.

“Global problems are becoming more evident. In this context, we highly value the support of the Government of the Island, which condemned NATO’s advance towards our borders. It is an evident example of a real association based on the principles of political outside of Havana,” Borisov said.
