“After the records that appear in the records and which were already detailed in the ruling of the present case, it is noted that the evidence offered was suitable and sufficient to determine the loss of militancy founded,” the PRI Commission highlighted.
The National Executive Committee, the National Political Council and the Political Council of Sonora, all three from the PRI, have already been notified of the resolution.
The National Coordination of Party Affiliation and Registration will be in charge of removing the former governor from the PRI registry.
In March, the PRI’s National Executive Committee (CEN) expelled Quirino Ordaz Coppel, former governor of Sinaloa, for agreeing to be Mexico’s ambassador to Spain.
The PRI reported that it was decided by majority vote of its members that the former president no longer be part of its ranks, “for having committed acts of serious indiscipline against the determinations of the National Political Council, as indicated in article 250 of the statutes”.
