This Wednesday it was learned that Mediapro recommended on Tuesday to the FBF to postpone the start of the Clausura to July 1 because it had difficulties with the importation and customs clearance of the equipment needed to install the Video Arbitration in each of the sports fields where the tournament will be played.
This matter will be discussed this Thursday in the superior council of the Professional Division. The 16 clubs must decide whether to start the Clausura next Friday with or without VAR.
Regarding the topic. National Customs informed DIEZ that no clearance request from Mediapro arrived at its institution and that the aforementioned teams arrived in the country on Tuesday’s holiday.
“To make an application, they first have to present the documentation of the imported equipment and the payment of the respective taxes. Once this requirement is met, the request must be made. Once the procedures are completed, what is requested can be delivered in a maximum of 48 hours,” said Silvia Salinas, Responsible for Communication of the National Customs.
That is part of the problem about VAR in the Clausura tournament, because to the lack of equipment is added the fact that a large part of the sports venues that will be used do not have the infrastructure ready suitable for equipment installation.
According to the contract between the FBF and Tigo they are 240 games that will be played in the Clausura tournament with the assistance of the VAR.
