Anti-Imperialist Tribune supports Venezuela's peace diplomacy

Support for Venezuela’s peace diplomacy and rejection of the next summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is the position of the Anti-Imperialist Tribune that was installed this Wednesday.

This was announced by the vice president of regional and municipal affairs of the PSUV, Carmen Meléndez, who read the manifesto in support of Venezuelan peace diplomacy and non-NATO multipolar sovereignty, whose summit will be held in Madrid, Spain, on 28 and June 28th.

In this sense, Meléndez condemned “the hypocrisy and criminal cynicism of the West, which attacks 15% of the oil-producing countries with unilateral, illegal and extraterritorial coercive measures, misnamed sanctions.”

“We, as a people, have resisted. We will continue fighting and winning », he assured.

He also said “we recognize in current politics, the vision that the oil minister Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo had, in 1959, for the creation of OPEC, and Hugo Chávez, who since 1999 gave it strategic strength, taking a fundamental turn to the oil trade and world economic geopolitics».

“From Venezuela we raise our voice for peace and we strongly raise the flag of sovereignty, respect, unity among peoples and sustained progress towards recovery and economic prosperity that makes its way into international agendas.”

Likewise, he highlighted the creativity and joy of the people, as well as their capacity and strength.

Colombia was another of the points addressed by Meléndez. In this regard, he stated “we congratulate and accompany the people of Colombia on the new democratic path that they have traced, and we hope that this new government marks the end of violence and puts an end to the war that has taken so many lives from our sister nation.”

He added that the Anti-Imperialist Tribune will be held in Central Park and Washington Square, on Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24.
