Economic activity advances only 0.1% in May, forecasts the Inegi

At an annual rate, the Global Indicator of Economic Activity (IGAE) expanded 1%, according to data from the Timely Indicator of Economic Activity, with an expected annual variation of 3.3% in secondary activities. Tertiary activities, in their annual comparison, would not have grown during May.

In addition, it is estimated that for April, the IGAE had an advance of 0.8%, at a monthly rate, with an increase of 1% in secondary and tertiary activities. At an annual rate, the IGAE would have an increase of 1.3% during April, slightly higher than expected for May.

In this way, during the year, the Mexican economy would have shown increases in the first five months of the year, with the exception of February, whose revised figure showed a monthly decrease of 0.1%.
