The Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo (Ccpsd) put into operation a platform that will allow its users to make the Mercantile Registry totally digital and other Online services.
The launch of the tool, called digital platform 2.0, was carried out in an activity led by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, at the National Palace.
The president said that the initiative provides the opportunity to strengthen trade, business, optimize resources and facilitate access and acquisition of services to the public.
He argued that the innovation will streamline the processes of registration and updating of the State Provider Registry managed by the General Directorate of Public Procurement, which will allow the accurate validation of the documentation issued by the Chamber of Commerce corresponding in less time than usual.
“This platform will allow state institutions such as the DGII, Onapi and the Superintendence of Banks to have quick access and have information on registered companies,” said Abinader, who stressed that projects such as the bureaucracy program must be added to this platform. Zero promoted by the Government, whose platform will be launched in September of this year.
When presenting the service, the president of the (Ccpsd), Manuel Luna, said that with this it will be possible to carry out all the processes that are carried out through the entity completely online in just 24 hours from anywhere in the world, which will save time, streamline processes, encourage the use of the digital signature and also decongest the facilities.
He said that the start-up of the 2.0 digital platform commemorates the 175th anniversary of the Ccpsd’s foundation, which makes it the oldest private entity in the country and the Chamber of Commerce oldest in Latin America.
“In the coming months it will be easy and quick to do business in all the provinces of the country, not only in the capital, since with Fedocamaras digital we will install this same system in all the cameras in the country starting in July with the cameras of the southern region” he explained, saying that the country’s 31 chambers of commerce will use the same platform.
On his side, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mypimes, Víctor Bisonó, reported that in 2021 35,855 new business registrations were made for an increase of 11.5%, compared to previous years, which contribute to transparency and facilitate trade agreements, which will directly impact the formalization.
He said that there were 11,833 Mipymes Certifications with a historical growth of 254%, with the collaboration provided by the Mercantile Registry as a tool of the MiPymes certification process.
“The remote services modality that is being inaugurated here today is of particular importance at this time, especially after the new normality due to Covid that has prevailed for more than 2 years, as a result of the global health crisis,” said the official.

within the Online services that will be available through the website www.camarasantodomingo.do include the registration of new companies, creation and renewal of the Mercantile Registry, transfer of address from another province, updating of general company data, and other processing possibilities .
