Petrobras received, this afternoon (21), the necessary reports to analyze the appointment of Caio Mário Paes de Andrade to the presidency of Petrobras, in accordance with the company’s governance rules and legislation.
In a note, the company informed that, in continuity with the relevant facts of yesterday (20), the Eligibility Committee (Celeg) scheduled a meeting for next Friday (24) in the afternoon to discuss the appointment of the new president of the state-owned company. Paes de Andrade is currently Secretary of Debureaucratization at the Ministry of Economy.
Resignation
Last Monday (20), José Mauro Coelho resigned from the position of president of the company and resigned from the position of member of the Board of Directors of the state-owned company.
On May 23, the Ministry of Mines and Energy reported that the federal government, as Petrobras’ controlling shareholder, had decided to change the company’s president.
at the time, the government announced that José Mauro Coelho, who took office on April 14, would be replaced by Caio Mário Paes de Andrade.
Committee
The Eligibility Committee is composed of the members of the Board of Directors and the People Committee (Cope), Francisco Petros (President of Celeg) and the President of Celeg, Luiz Henrique Caroli; and by the external members of Cope, Ana Silvia Matte and Tales Bronzato.
In addition, as provided for in Cope’s Internal Regulations, the Board of Directors Marcelo Mesquita, elected by minority shareholders holding preferred shares, was invited to participate in the nomination agenda of the state-owned company’s new president.
