This Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, met with a group from the Movement of Residents who made a series of requests for their progress.
The Minister of Communes and Social Movements Jorge Arreazaassured that the meeting was proposed by these movements in order to demand respect for their struggles.
«The work assembly arose from the movements, let’s take advantage of this opportunity to work, the organizations that are here. They have several approaches, one of the most important is respect for their struggles, the defense of their struggles and the fulfillment of their rights”, he said.
He stressed that among the needs of these movements is to fulfill Chavez’s dream, which was to fulfill the production of life for life and not for profit.
“When these communities take over a piece of land, they create it with organized communities and when they achieve it, they are already communal councils and communes«, he limited.
In the same way, he said that the movements seek to curb arbitrary evictions, the approval of a law for the self-managed production of housing, the condemnation of all actions of criminalization of the people and the defense of the communalization of cities.
