Scioli: "Argentina can successfully address a national development agenda"

The Minister of Productive Development, Daniel Scioli, met on Tuesday with authorities from the Argentine Confederation of Medium-Sized Enterprises (CAME) and affirmed that Argentina can “successfully face” a national development agenda.

“We have to go readjusting the programs, the lines of credit, promoting youth employment, the development of industrial parks and the training of human resources to these new challenges that the world poses and opens new opportunities for the country. Argentina has what it takes to get ahead, it has what it takes to successfully face a national development agenda,” the minister said during the meeting.

He also promised to replace social plans with “genuine work”, accompanied by SMEs and affirmed that “it makes the success of productive development articulate with other areas of government”.

“I propose work with the Education area for train human resources that today are demanded in different parts of the country and replace social plans with genuine work hand in hand with you, who are the ones who can help us find the solution most quickly,” he declared during the meeting.

For its part, the president of the entity, Alfredo González highlighted the continuity in the SME agenda and stressed that it is the first time that the entity works directly with the Ministry.

“This meeting is important because it shows that there is a continuity of the team where we can continue working. CAME has 22 years of experience working and it is the first time that the Ministry will work directly to download tools,” announced the head of CAME in dialogue with Telam.

At the meeting An agenda was agreed with three lines of work: SME financing, strengthening of the internal and external market, and training and professional updating in the sector.

“We request a greater participation of the financial system, financing costs appropriate to profitability and an agile and simple mechanism that allows the sector to access credit and that does not threaten the viability of those who invest, produce and work for the recovery of the country”, and added that the objective is to encourage SMEs to export to bring more foreign currency into the country.

As for the strengthening of supply in the domestic marketCAME called for a plan that allows consumers to have better access to products of national origin SMEs and called for an internationalization plan for SMEs to help encourage and promote companies.

Finally, the president of CAME He highlighted the importance of working together with the Ministry on training programs and business models that enable company personnel to access new knowledge tools and the latest technologies in each area.

Daniel Scioli too met with the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) and the Argentine General Economic Confederation (Cgera) to listen to their demands and organize lines of action.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurs, Guillermo Merediz; the secretary of Industry and External Commercial Management, Ariel Schale; and on behalf of CAME, the Secretary General, Ricardo Diab; the Secretary of the Treasury, Blas Taladrid; and the vice presidents of the entity, Alberto Kahale, Fabián Castillo and Claudia Fernández, among others.
