The polyclinic, located in the Olympic Champions stadium, was loaned to the State Health Services Administration (ASSE). It will serve from Monday to Friday in general medicine and pediatrics, and will have obstetrics. The inauguration speaks of a close national government, present and committed to decentralization and quality public health, highlighted the secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado.
At the inauguration, this Saturday 18, the president of ASSE, Leonardo Cipriani, and members of the board were also present; the undersecretary of Social Development, Andrea Brugman; the mayor of Florida, Guillermo López; the secretary general of the administration, Marcos Pérez Machado; Florida Police Chief José Azambuya; the Deputy Director General of Health of the Ministry of Public Health, Luján Giudici, and other departmental and national authorities.
The new polyclinic is part of the project to improve the Olympic Champions stadium, the department’s main sports arena. This work was co-financed by the Florida City Hall and the Interior Development Fund managed by the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP), with a total investment of more than 2 million dollars. The project contemplates this new service, whose management will depend on ASSE, through a loan for the current period of government of the intendency, with possible extensions.
The polyclinic, which will start operating on the first Monday of July, will offer general medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and nursing care. It is expected to incorporate the gynecology service. The space includes three consulting rooms, an infirmary and a waiting room.
In his speech, Delgado highlighted the presence of the national government at the inauguration and attributed it to the fact that it is a just and necessary cause. In addition, he highlighted the efforts and coordination within the State, as well as decentralization to find solutions and be more efficient in the use of resources.
The hierarch recalled that ASSE represents the third largest state budget, with 1,100 million dollars per year, which has 900 service centers throughout the territory and serves 1.5 million users.
“We have the responsibility to manage people’s money well, this polyclinic has to do with money from OPP, from the administration and, now, it incorporates ASSE services, to be something comprehensive and efficient in the use of resources,” he assured. .
Finally, he stressed that there is no such thing as first class health and second class health, and said that this ASSE management is committed to providing public health with the best level of care for its users. “This management does what should be done,” she concluded.
For his part, Cipriani pointed out that the polyclinic makes it possible to streamline services in the area, where approximately 13,000 users are served, and provide greater accessibility to patients.
In addition, he highlighted the complementation between the different levels of government, which allows greater efficiency. “With joint work, we can carry out this type of work, where all our patients in the area benefit,” he said.
López highlighted the assistance of the Secretary of the Presidency and said that this denotes a present and decentralizing Government. He also explained that the need for a polyclinic for the residents of Piedra Alta was a request that had been made for a long time and that, for this reason, the construction of the space corresponding to the consulting rooms, gynecology , waiting room and infirmary.
After the oratories, the authorities unveiled a commemorative plaque, cut the traditional inauguration ribbon, and toured the facilities.
