The selection returns to the court next Thursday (23), when it measures forces with Serbia and New Zealand.
“After a long trip we managed to make good games on the first day of competition, losing by just four points to Puerto Rico, a WT champion team in 2021, and beating France, returning the defeat in the Pre-Olympics last year. We went on to the second day with great chances of qualifying for the final phase, and now we know how our opponents play”, said the coach of the Brazilian team, Luca Carvalho.
Due to the format of the tournament, Group A, with Brazil, France, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and Serbia, faces each other within the bracket. First place advances straight to the quarterfinals. And the second and third go to the round of 16.
Women’s team debut
Who enters the court for the competition next Wednesday (20) is the Brazilian women’s team, which faces Austria, from 6 am (Brasília time), and France, from 7:50 am.
