With the installation of the electrical energy system, starting tomorrow, the drinking water system and the cooling system or air conditioning chillers, everything is almost ready for the inauguration of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute of the City on July 12 Of the health.
According to the manager of the Ciudad de la Salud Project, Rogelio Robles, there are more than 2,900 workers on the site, guaranteeing that everything goes according to the established schedule and in effect until now, the area of the operating rooms, the angiographers, the hybrid operating rooms and the hospitalization area are practically ready, which will allow opening and caring for patients with the quality that is required in this institute.
For his part, the national executive director of Health Services and Benefits of the CSS, Alex González, highlighted that for the start-up of this unit, personnel from the “Dr. Arnulfo Arias Madrid”, from the Hospital for Pediatric Specialties “Omar Torrijos Herrera”, as well as other personnel who have been appointed and prepared for this first phase.
He added that they are already prepared to receive patients and recalled that cardiovascular surgeries will not only be performed for adults but also for children.
“We are addressing all the issues related to support services that are important to really guarantee a complete stay for the patient and that surgeries can be done in an environment with all biosecurity and using this maximum technology that is going to have this building,” he specified.
He explained that the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute will have advanced technology and high-end medical equipment, such as angiographers with less radiation and other imaging equipment, which will allow a highly accurate diagnosis, so “we are prepared for the diagnostic process carried out by the MINSA Technical Health Council to formally enable the institute”.
