SANTIAGO.- A well-known lawyer from this city was shot to death this morning by two unknown assailants, just as he was leaving his residence.
Basilio Guzmán Rodríguez, 62, was surprised by the individuals and they left the scene of the events aboard a motorcycle on which they arrived.
The event occurred around 7:00 today on Mirador Street, in the exclusive Cerros de Gurabo III sector, where he lived with his wife and children.
His law office is located in Plaza Charo, on Juan Pablo Duarte Avenue, where he was going when the incident occurred, to participate in a work meeting with several colleagues.
Mr. Osvaldo Bonilla, tax attorney head of this judicial district, directs the investigations, presenting himself to the place where the body of Guzmán Rodríguez still remained.

Lawyer José Miguel Minier, who declared that he was a friend of Guzmán Rodríguez, considered that the murder was not the product of ordinary crime, and therefore asked the authorities to investigate the incident with the necessary rigor.
