Seven men who were forced by the courts to go to the Domino Project are preparing a civil suit to the Judiciary for the damages caused by their attendance at the NGO.

The organization was denounced for assaulting, harassing and harassing men accused of gender-based violence who went there to recover, lawyer Daiana Abracinskas told The Observer. Along with Dr. Federico Ravera, they had about 10 consultations on this subject.

The amounts for which the demand is made will vary according to the case, because the damages reported were different. The lawsuit will include as an argument that the mistreatment received by some men ended in suicide attempts and depression. In others, she forced them to lose their jobs, because the schedules overlapped and the attendance was mandatory, the lawyer said. In addition, she maintained that some of them also consider filing a criminal complaint.

The complaints broadcast by Santo y Seña (Channel 4) about alleged irregularities in Domino Projectheaded by Juan Carlos Vega, had an echo in the judicial system and the The Supreme Court of Justice ordered the Specialized Family judges to “report on the suitability and services provided” by this NGO.

In the Santo y Seña report, several men stated that the NGO insulted them and mistreated them and their families. “If you look at it wrong, it puts you against the wall for half an hour or 40 minutes,” said one of the interviewees. They exposed that the director of the project, Juan Carlos Vega, imposed a sectarian logic in the meetings that took place on Saturdays. Vega publicly acknowledged breaking plates and glasses as part of his “confrontational” approach. The NGO had a confidentiality contract signed so that what happened in the meetings would not be disclosed.

This Sunday, more men lent themselves to testify about what happened and said that the director told them phrases like “I hope covid-19 kills you” and “you are a rapist, look at your face.” In addition, there were participants who stated that they suffered sexual abuse: “He touched her leg and her private parts,” said a witness. While, in other cases, Vega charged for individual sessions and asked men to undress to “make them feel freer.”

According to the news program, Vega is not a psychologist as he presents himself. The person in charge of the project indicated that he would close the NGO due to the number of detractors he had garnered. This Saturday, for now, the workshop was cancelled. In turn, he called himself Zeus. He insulted and sent “to the corner to think” the men accused of violence. He even physically assaulted them and extorted them with the possibility of sending a report that would harm them to Justice.

The Court’s statement states that “once the required information has been received, the highest body of Justice will analyze the situation and decide on the measures that the verified situation warrants.”
