The delegations of the Government and the Unitary Platform of the Venezuelan opposition in charge of the political dialogue process in Venezuela will participate in the Oslo Forum, an event on conflict mediation and peace processes that will take place between June 21 and 22.
“The negotiators of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela and the Platform for the Unity of Venezuela will be in Norway to attend the Oslo Forum,” the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Twitter.
The Kingdom of Norway is one of the facilitators of the dialogue between the Government and the Unitary Platform in Mexican territory, which was suspended since last October after confirming the extradition from Cape Verde to the United States of the diplomat Alex Saab.
On May 17, the heads of the Government and opposition delegations, Jorge Rodríguez and Gerardo Blyde, respectively, They met in Caracas in an attempt to resume political dialogue under international auspices.

In addition to the Venezuelan guests, the Oslo Forum will be attended by some 100 conflict mediators, high-level decision makers, experts and peace process actors from around the world, according to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry in a note posted on your website.
“The geopolitical situation has changed drastically in recent years. The world hasn’t been this polarized since the Cold War. This year’s Oslo Forum will focus on how to create opportunities to promote peaceful solutions in a polarized world,” said Norwegian Chancellor Anniken Huitfeld.
High-level officials from the United Nations (UN) and the African Union are expected to attend, as well as the former president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, and the former president of Mozambique, Joaquim Alberto Chissano.
Topics for discussion at this year’s Oslo Forum will include developments in the Middle East, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Venezuela and Ethiopia, as well as other conflict areas.
Participants will share experiences and knowledge across regions and discuss the specific challenges and dilemmas faced by mediators, the international security architecture, the role of private military companies, among other points.
