This Saturday, December 4, the campaign closing act of the Frente Amplio internal elections will be held on Sunday 5.
It was planned that in the closing ceremony, to be held in Parque Batlle, the candidates would speak: Fernando Pereira, Gonzalo Civila and Ivonne Pasada, as well as Graciela Villar and Gabriela Iribarren.
Quarantine
However, this Friday, December 3, Fernando Pereira announced that he will not be able to participate in political activity because he must remain in preventive quarantine, having been in contact with a positive case of Covid-19.
Pereira sent a letter to the political force and to militants in which he expresses his situation.
“Dear colleagues. My wife Adriana tested positive for Covid-19, I arrived yesterday at 5:30 from Salto and I was sharing a bedroom until 6:30 when I got up to go to Radio Sarandí.
I have consulted with the doctor and he has told me that I have to swab quickly and then do a second swab, “says Pereira in his letter.
He said that he is aware that he has already had Covid, that he has all three doses of the vaccine, and that the chances of him having Covid are minimal. “Even so I go into quarantine, and I will accompany Adriana as she accompanied me. With the care that must be taken but also with the love that must be given ”.
“I already warned the few people with whom I had contact. It is clear then that I am not going to be able to continue developing my campaign activity, keeping myself in quarantine for as long as they indicate to me ”, he assured.
Pereira added: “I ask all the Frente Amplio to make every effort so that the Frente Amplio has the greatest popular support and on Sunday thousands of wills join, a fundamental condition to strengthen our Front and begin to return.”
