Delegates of the Madrid Forum ask for truth, justice and reparation for victims of Montero in 2019

Members of the Madrid Forum, together with assembly members from We Believe, this Monday met with relatives of Marcelo Terrazas and Mario Salvatierrawho died during the violent events of 2019 in Cofadena, Montero.

Victoria Eugenia Villarroel, who is an Argentine deputy for Avanza Libertad, said: “We are respectfully asking the government of President Arce that we want truth, justice and reparation for these victims(and) for the wounded.”

In this regard, Hugo Serrate, president of the Civic Committee of Montero, stated that as an institution they seek that these events, which he referred to as “murders without consequence”, clarify. He stated that an impartial investigation is necessary and they support the request and the work of the representatives of the Madrid Forum.

He indicated that the relatives of the victims ask for justice and regretted that they had not been taken into account in thehe compensation that there was for those who died in Sacaba and Senkata of that same year.

Víctor González, another of the representatives of the Madrid Forum and a Spanish deputy for Vox, referred to lack of separation of powers and the process of former president Jeanine Áñez.

“We ask the Government of Spain, with all due respect for the sovereignty of Bolivia, to condemn a judicial process, which has been declared by the United Nations rapporteur, and which has been expressly mentioned by the High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs of the Union European, as a fraudulent process and therefore, as a political sentence and not a sentence in justice. It is a violation of the separation of powers, and It is a sentence that, as we have all heard, has been handed down by Evo Morales in a political meeting,” González said in reference to the request made by his party to the Spanish Chamber of Deputies.

“If there is no separation of powers, if there is no independent justice, there is no democracyand that is what we came to denounce”, he affirmed.

On the subject, Villarroel asked “that the guarantees of due process be respected, which is being carried out against Áñez.”

The Madrid Forum is made up of political parties and thinkers who they assume an openly opposed position to the socialism of the 21st century and communist regimes. It emerged as a proposal from Santiago Abascal, leader of the far-right party Vox in Spain, and has the political backing of twenty countries.
