The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, said on Monday that with the victory of Gustavo Petro in the Presidency of Colombia, the Lima Group will be buried.
At a press conference, Cabello stated that Petro in Colombia will strengthen existing organizations whose purpose is the union of Latin American and Caribbean countries such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), the Union of South American Nations (Unasur), and « the Lima Group is finished being buried».
“If there was something left, that group ends on August 7. We believe that from there it disappears completely. It is a call that the thing is between us », he added.
He also said that when he takes over Petro the presidency, there will be no one left in that country of those responsible on whom a serious investigation of what happened in monomers. «By that date (August 7) they should all have left. Protected there are, among others, the intellectual author of the assassination attempt against the President Nicolas MaduroThat’s why they’re dating. Any investigation that is opened in Colombia on these issues will generate a migration of opposition citizens who are in that land,” he said.
The Lima Group is a political organization created against Venezuela on August 8, 2017 in the capital of Peru, by presidents of twelve countries on the continent and endorsed by the United States government.
With the changes of presidents that have occurred to date, such as those of Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Chile and Argentina, there are fewer and fewer governments in the region that continue to adhere to that organization.
