At about 1:00 p.m. this Monday, the formalization of the three subjects arrested last Friday for their participation in the death of the second corporal of the carabineros, David Florido Cisterna, who lost his life on June 10 in the commune by Pedro Aguirre Cerda.
The defendants are Juan González Quezada, the alleged material author of the murder of the police officer who is being formalized for the crimes of qualified and frustrated homicide; Julio Vidal and Marcela García, who are accused of covering up for Quezada.
Given this, the prosecutor Christian Toledo requested the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the three involved. The same request made by the Government of President Gabriel Boric, as reported by the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve.
“We are plaintiffs in the case for the murder of Chief Petty Officer David Florido and evidently as a result of our presence as plaintiffs we are going to request preventive detention for all the accused, both for the alleged perpetrator and for the people who appear as accessories to the alleged murderer,” said the judicial authority.
Regarding the cover-up role of the official from the Judiciary, Monsalve stressed that “signs of this nature are worrying, because they ultimately undermine the trust of citizens in institutions that have a role of enormous importance, which is to administer and guarantee the correct administration of justice”.
