José Mauro Coelho resigns as president of Petrobras

Petrobras reported today (20) that José Mauro Coelho resigned from the position of president of the company and resigned from the position of member of the Board of Directors of the state-owned company this morning.José Mauro Coelho resigns as president of Petrobras

“The appointment of an interim president will be examined by Petrobras’ Board of Directors from now on,” the company said in a statement.

According to Petrobras’ statute, the interim president is chosen from among the company’s directors in the event of resignation.

On May 23, the Ministry of Mines and Energy reported that the federal government, as the controlling shareholder of Petrobras, had decided to exchange the president of the state.

At the time, the government announced that José Mauro Coelho, who took office on April 14, would be replaced by Caio Mário Paes de Andrade.

The new name appointed by the government needs to be approved by the Petrobras People Committee, which evaluates the curriculum

Afterwards, he has to be elected at the company’s Ordinary General Meeting. After this stage, he will still have his name submitted to the company’s Board of Directors, where he will need to be approved.
