The Institutional Revolutionary and the Democratic Revolution parties carry bank debts derived from the electoral setbacks they have suffered in recent years. In the case of the tricolor, a loan with Banca Afirme stands out for 207.4 million pesos -acquired in 2021-, while the Aztec sun resorted a few months ago to bank debt for 50 million pesos and the sale of assets to get hold of more resources due to the decrease in its public financing.

After the electoral debacle that it suffered earlier this month in six states, the PRD will no longer receive local prerogatives in 18 entities. That is to say, in more than half of the country it has no record for not reaching 3 percent of the votes in state elections.

As part of the Va por México alliance, the PAN was the only one of the three parties that make it up to refuse to respond to a request for transparency on this type of debt. Based on the federal and general transparency laws, it argued that “there is no obligation to prepare documents ad hoc to respond to requests for access to information.

The PRI, whose financial situation has been seriously compromised since 2006, when it had to pay a fine of one billion pesos for Pemexgate – the transfer of 500 million pesos from Petróleos Mexicanos to the presidential campaign of Francisco Labastida Ochoa, through the Sindicato of Oil Workers of the Mexican Republic, which La Jornada reported in January 2002, also reported a tax debt that in January alone amounted to around 2.8 million pesos.

However, the worst economic crisis is experienced by the PRD. As of February of this year, the party’s debts for labor awards totaled almost 6.3 million pesos and for commercial procedures, just over 8.6 million pesos.

Last April, the National Council of the Aztec Sun, in an extraordinary session, approved requesting a bank loan for 50 million pesos to have financial solvencyby recognizing a decline in its public financing. He admitted that for pre-campaigns, campaigns and ordinary activities he required Obtain private resources through the means allowed by the regulations on auditing.

During that meeting, the PRD also granted the national executive leadership the power to divest, dispose of real estate of the resulting match too big for partisan activity, or are unemployed, and that, in the latter case, they only generate expenses derived from the payment of rights, contributions and taxes. The directors endorsed the sale of two properties in Mexico City, two in the state of Mexico, three in Sinaloa and one in Tlaxcala.

In that resolution they accepted that of the 32 states, In 15 states (Baja California, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Morelos, Campeche, Nuevo Léon, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, and Tamaulipas), the PRD does not receive local public funding for permanent ordinary activities.. Added to that list this month, due to loss of registration, are Hidalgo and Quintana Roo.
