The Dominican-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (CCTDS) business entity of 22 years in the country, swore in its new Board of Directors for the period 2022-2024 and re-elected as Chairman Gaetan Bucher, renowned businessman and CEO of Caelum Capital, the international firm specializing in capital strategies and investment fund management.
“Being at the head of this entity for two new years means, in addition to facilitating investment between the two countries, continuing to promote competitiveness, innovation and spaces for the empowerment of civil society through good practices and know-how”, Bucher pointed out.
As part of the actions of the president-elect, there is, on the one hand, the digital transformation of the entity, through a web platform that serves as a business facilitating tool and a repository of quality content. Also the promotion of collaboration and research agreements with academia, as well as the promotion of THINK events. “The THINK events of the CCTDS have become reference spaces for Dominican society for providing value, experience and an analytical perspective to make better decisions in this VUCA environment in which we find ourselves,” he said.
Bucher pointed out that in this new period he will have the collaboration of Martín Almonte, who since 2021 has been the director of the CCTDS. “Almonte has incorporated a proactive and professional management into the vision of the Chamber, very connected with technology and with the needs of businessmen today.”
The election was held within the framework of the entity’s Ordinary General Assembly and took place at the OMG offices. The meeting was attended by the Honorary President of the Chamber, HE Rita Hämmerli-Weschke, Swiss ambassador to the country, in addition to the members attending the assembly. As part of the agenda, the reports of the outgoing Board of Directors were known, as well as the annual report of the treasurer and the external auditors.
