The Public Ministry reported that four doctors were charged because they allegedly sold kits for surgical interventions.
The information was posted on the social networks of the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, who specified that the doctors work at the “José Antonio Páez” hospital located in Guasdualito, Apure.
The prosecuted doctors are registered as Ivis Dubarly Paez (Gynecologist-Obstetrician), Ana Yumar Rodríguez (General Surgeon), María Yaritza Vequiz (General Surgeon) and Cándido Alfredo Martínez (Gynecologist-Obstetrician), Saab detailed.
The Attorney General asserted that these health professionals “make improper and unjustified charges to users who warrant surgical intervention., selling them the operation kits which are free”.
For this reason, the Prosecutor’s Office 12 charged them with the crimes of: own corruption, own fraudulent embezzlement and criminal association.
In another procedure, the Public Ministry announced the indictment of Lexis Joel Molina Tovar (41) and Alicia del Valle Carrero de Molina (39), who allegedly engaged in the illegal sale of medicines and medical supplies. In that case, the imputed crimes are: misappropriation of state assets and conspiracy, says the tweet from the head of the Public Ministry.
Regarding this same fact, the director of the Cicpc, commissioner Douglas Rico, reported that the arrest of the Molina-Carrero couple took place in the Community of San Martín, sector 22 de Agosto, Santa Rosa parish, Bermudez municipality, Carúpano, Sucre state.
At the site, Cicpc agents recovered more than 3,000 medical supplies that would be destined for illegal sale.
