LaLiga wants to request the revocation of Mbappé’s contract, announces his lawyer

The Spanish LaLiga wants to request “the revocation of (Kylian) Mbappé’s contract” and intends to take Paris Saint-Germain before the European authorities, his lawyer in France, Juan Branco, assured this Friday.

“The entry point” of the “graduated” procedures against PSG is “the legality of Mbappé’s contract,” explained the lawyer at a press conference.

“The LFP (French Professional Football League) should never have approved this contract. The DNCG (National Directorate for Management Control – within the LFP it is in charge of supervising the accounts of professional football clubs in France) should have verified PSG’s infringement of the rules of financial fair-play on a national and European level,” added Branco.

The lawyer plans to request “the revocation of Mbappé’s contract from the French Minister of Sports”, and then eventually present an “appeal to the LFP to contact the DNCG for an opportunity control” of the PSG accounts.

Finally, if the previous initiatives do not yield any results, he stated that he would appeal to the Paris administrative court.

In the absence of results for his interests, the lawyer stated that he would go “to the European Commission to ask it to intervene to harmonize the regulations”, or initiate “a formal procedure later for abuse of a dominant position” to finally, at the end of the process, go to the European court of justice.

“It is clear to everyone that PSG acts outside the rules, even through fraudulent maneuvers,” said the lawyer, recalling that LaLiga had also attacked Manchester City, another European club owned by a State, the United Arab Emirates, before UEFA. , when PSG is owned by Qatar.

He explained that what was driving these demands was LaLiga’s desire to ‘redefine the rules for a more virtuous ecosystem’.

LaLiga accuses PSG of “continually violating the current Financial Fair Play regulations” established by UEFA and of unbalancing sporting and economic competition.

The head of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, is one of the most virulent critics of state-backed clubs.
