the captain of PenarolWalter Gargano, published this Friday a statement where he denies that he committed the crimes for which two women denounced him, along with the attacker and teammate, Lucas Viatri.
This week a complaint by two women to the Prosecutor’s Office for Sexual Crimes against the aforementioned players emerged. As it became known, the plaintiffs assured that those involved “groped” them and were violent with them.
Because of this, this Thursday Gargano and Viatri had to go to the Family Court to declare. After the hearing was over, the Justice ordered a series of limiting measures against the defendants, as well as a submission to psychiatric expertise.
After complying with these instances, the “mota” issued a statement in which he assured that “plain and plain” he did not commit the crimes for which he is accused.
“Notwithstanding this, and in order for the truth to come to light, I will collaborate and continue to collaborate with justice,” said the player.
Gargano indicated that he will not give his version of the events to the press “meanwhile, I have been exercising the right to defense in the corresponding areas, and informing public opinion of what happened can hinder the work of those who today fulfill their important research task”.
Finally, the footballer acknowledged that he was reported for “a criminal act that is very serious and that there are people who may be suffering from it. Therefore, any distorted message can inhibit victims from filing a complaint.”
