The departmental commander of the Santa Cruz Police, Colonel Érick Holguín, indicated that after learning of the escape of the two prisoners, alerts were activated for the recapture. ANDhe DACI group verified the cameras in different areas, allowing the identification of a vehicle with license plate 2556 FPP, which traveled from the Palmasola prison, Santos Dumont avenue, passed through the second ring road to Cristo Redentor avenue and arrived at the Sevilla del Bosque condominium.
“An analysis of the security cameras is made from the Palmasola prison to the condominium, calculating a time of 45 minutes to an hour, where the vehicle that was possibly used for the escape is identified. Once the vehicle entered the condominium, it was removed after 45 minutes and moved to a building located between Venezuela and Haiti streets, where they were recaptured,” he said.
It was verified that the person inside the car was the concubine of one of the inmates.identified as Edilene Dantas da Silva Sampaio, who also ended up being apprehended.
Once the test images were obtained, the Police and its different units carried out the operation, moving one day after the escape, on Wednesday, June 15, to the building where the fugitives would be found, near the Gabriel René Moreno University campus.
In the place, the police officers were received with firearm shots, for which they had to respond using the regulation weapons.
