Felipe Echandi on the partial veto of the Crypto Law: ‘This project does not look like the one in El Salvador’

The expert in digital payments and cryptocurrencies, and CEO of the platform Quantum, Felipe Echandi, referred to the partial veto of the Crypto Law in Panama, clarifying that at no time in this project was there the possibility that crypto assets were of course legal. “This project doesn’t look like the one in El Salvador,” he said.

He explained that the interesting thing about this veto is that only the articles vetoed by President Laurentino Cortizo will be discussed again. “What fills me with hope is that the president has recognized that the initiative is possible and that it did not justify making a total veto,” he said.

According to Echandi, many sectors underestimated this bill, and some economists reacted after the approval of the Crypto Law in the third debate.
