In the District Hospital of Santaní, the death of a baby of only 2 months took place this Thursday. He presented a picture of pneumonia and malnutrition, for which he needed an intensive care bed.
The child urgently needed a therapy bed, a service that is not available at the District Hospital of Santaní. While the steps were being taken to transfer him to another care center, his death was confirmed.
In this regard, Dr. Robert González, director of the Santaní Hospital, commented that the little patient was hospitalized for several days waiting for the therapy bed.
“Yesterday he entered a picture of generalized sepsis and had a cardiorespiratory arrest, but he was able to be revived while we got the bed,” said the medical chief in an interview with channel Thirteen.
According to the doctor’s explanation, the child died on the way to the Itauguá hospital, due to cardiorespiratory arrest.
