SANTO DOMINGO. – The journalist and member of the central committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Glenn Davis, criticized this Tuesday that President Luis Abinader has in his Governmentpeople linked to the same sector of the entity they direct.
“One thing is that your professional competence is consistent with the institution that you direct, and quite another is that your economic interests are within the sector to which the institution of which you are an official belongs. Where will the balance end up tipping? ”, He manifested.
He revealed that recently a well-known businessman from the electricity sector felt bad about his comment, referring to the positions he occupies in the current state administration.
“What happened in the Lottery, happened because this Government has put the mouse to take care of the cheese. But that is not the only one of its kind, just like that, it can happen at any time in other institutions, since there are ministers with and without portfolio, directors, members of councils and cabinets, moving in their own waters, and the complaints already are reaching the media. So, it’s only a matter of time,” he asserted.
He recalled that during the election campaign “they were sold as the panacea for corruption” so it is surprising that these things are happening in his government.
He alerted the general director of Ethics and Government Integrity (DIGEIG), Milagros Ortiz Bosch, and the authorities of the Public Ministry, to be attentive to possible cases that could be affecting the interests of the people.
