One of the first to celebrate is the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, since the Azteca Stadium will host a World Cup for the third time, after those held in 1970 and 1986. The president stressed that the capital is the city where the played more games.
Enrique Alfaro, Governor of Jalisco, stated in a video that hosting the World Cup again was achieved thanks to cooperation with private initiative and municipal governments, in addition to improving security and public transportation in Guadalajara.
“This is undoubtedly extraordinary news, we are thoroughly preparing ourselves to face the challenge of being well evaluated by FIFA and today we can celebrate that we did it correctly”, says the governor.
