The interview stage for the selection of the new magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and his substitute, is scheduled to end on July 2, according to the special evaluation Commission, which began the process this morning.
With these interviews, the person who replaces the magistrate of the Criminal Chamber of the CSJ José Ayú Prado and his substitute is sought.
Carlos Lee, the spokesman for the Commission of the State Pact for Justice, highlighted that in the first instance 95 applicants presented themselves with their respective documentation, but two have been discarded; one of them formally submitted his withdrawal from the presentation and another does not meet the age requirement and was notified by the Commission. This applicant is expected to withdraw her application.
“We would be talking about 93 people who must be subjected to the process,” he said, explaining that the commission is not empowered to refrain from interviewing people who present their candidacies, even if they do not meet the requirements that the Law establishes, because it is established in that way. the decree.
He stressed that despite the eventualities that may exist, all the people who have presented their documentation must be interviewed, unless they withdraw the presentation of their candidacy. “We have to submit them to the process and in the considerations we must express of those people that we have interviewed and they did not comply with the stipulated,” he sentenced.
After completing the interview process, the Commission will have 10 days to present the final report.
