The Calama Guarantee Court today decreed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for JPBD and MLS, charged with the crimes of femicide and homicide -respectively- of the environmental activist Javiera rojas, found dead on Sunday, November 28, in an abandoned building in the city located in the Antofagasta Region.
At the formalization hearing (case roll 5912-2021), the magistrate Maria Jose Salas accepted the request for a precautionary measure made by the Public Ministry, considering that the freedom of the accused represents a danger to the security of society, decreeing an investigation period of 200 days.
According to the persecuting entity, on November 26, the victim, Javiera Rojas Veas, arrived in the company of the two defendants JPBD and MLS -the first of them with whom he had a relationship- to a building called ruco on Antofagasta street in the city. of Calama.
At the scene, she allegedly had a discussion about money issues with the defendants, who proceeded to tie her hand and foot, and then beat her repeatedly. They also stabbed her in her lower extremities.
Rojas died in the building after the attacks, being found on Sunday, November 28, after the revelation of one of the accused to a neighbor.
