Covid-19: country records 32,900 cases and 151 deaths in 24 hours

Covid-19: Brazil has 29.8 million cases and 658,500 deaths

The Ministry of Health released today (16) updated figures on the covid-19 pandemic in the country. According to a daily survey carried out by the ministry, Brazil has accumulated 31.6 million confirmed cases of the disease and 668,800 registered deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. In the last 24 hours, the ministry accounts for 32,900 new cases and 151 deaths.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of accumulated cases, with 5.6 million positive results for the disease and 170,000 deaths. Next are Minas Gerais (3.5 million cases and 61,800 deaths); Paraná (2.5 million cases and 43.5 thousand deaths) and Rio Grande do Sul (2.5 million cases and 39.8 thousand deaths).

Vaccination

According to the Ministry of Health’s vaccinometer, 443 million doses of vaccines against covid-19 have already been applied, of which 177.4 million are the first dose; 159.9 million second dose, plus 90 million booster dose and 6.6 million second booster dose.
