Government publishes second educational video of the “Let’s Make History” initiative: it seeks to promote informed voting ahead of the exit plebiscite

The Government of the President Gabriel Boricpublished the second video of the “Let’s Make History” initiative, which is an information campaign on the exit plebiscite on September 4, in which citizens must choose between the options Approve or Reject the draft of the new Constitution that is drafting the Constitutional Convention.

This campaign has not been without controversy, since the RN, the UDI, and the Republican Party accuse the Executive of promoting the Approval vote.

In this new installment, it was disseminated by the Ministries of the General Secretariat of the Government (Segegob), General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres) and Social Development, the three portfolios authorized by the Comptroller to disseminate information on the constitutional plebiscite.

Through a statement, the Executive indicates that the delivery “seeks to promote participation and informed voting in the face of the September 4 election and is part of the constitutional civic education campaign that the Executive launched on May 28 on the Day of the Estates”.

When specifying the content of this second audiovisual piece, from the Government they specify that “this second video explains a fundamental question: What is a Constitution? ‘The Constitution is the most important norm, it mandates the other laws, and defines the “rules of the game” of our democracy. It is important because it organizes life in society, recognizes and guarantees the rights of people, establishes their duties and governs the main institutions of the State’, is heard in the audiovisual piece”.

“Both in the video published this Thursday, June 16, and in the previous one, it is recalled that there are two options for the plebiscite: Approve or Reject. Both options are legitimate and it is the duty of the Government to communicate to citizens that they have the right to vote and that this vote be informed”, concludes the text.
