The dictatorship of Daniel Ortega gave Nicaraguan nationality to Talal Mohamad Al Akli Majzoub, born in Lebanon and of Venezuelan nationality, according to resolution No. 3323 of the Ministry of the Interior published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette No. 109 of this Wednesday, 15 June 2022.
The resolution of the Interior indicates that Al Akli Majzoub arrived in Nicaragua on April 9, 2015 and has remained in the country uninterruptedly. He is married, was born in the Lebanese Republic on January 1, 1973, is 49 years old, is an investor and “has contributed to the social and economic development of the country.”
Al Akli Majzoub was linked between 2009 and 2015 to companies Okli’s Corporation SA and Makro Trading Panama SA Both companies were founded in Panama. Makro Trading files commercial registry 155612711 in Panama City, according to public data available on the web. Okli’s Corporation operated under commercial number 653182 in the province of Colón. In both companies he held the positions of director and secretary during those years.

The new Nicaraguan would be linked to the Venezuelan nationalized by the Ortega dictatorship, Mohamad Al Akli Mansour, who was also linked to the company Makro Trading SA in Panama. Mansour received nationality on May 26 and has been in the country since September 2019.
The other foreigner to whom Ortega granted nationality is a Guatemalan nationalized Palestinian businessman named Wisam Issa Aranki Massis. He arrived in Nicaragua on December 16, 2013 and has remained in the country continuously. He is married, he was born in Palestine on April 15, 1975, he is 47 years old. Although he does not mention it in the resolution, according to public records, the man is a businessman.
According to The Gazette No. 96 of May 23, 2019, on February 18, 2019, the businessman registered nine Trademark names before the Intellectual Property Registry, all of which are used to sell clothing, footwear and garments for women, men and children. The registered trademarks are Bom Bom, Tentaciones, Ledy Fany, Tami Bag, Capricho, Can-Can, Stay Plus and Rancan.
Other nationalized in the past
In 2021, the Ortega dictatorship nationalized two doctors from the Russian Mechnikov plant. Since August 16 of last year, Viktor Pavlovich Trukhin has held Nicaraguan citizenship for having contributed to “scientific and technological development.” Russian doctor Elena Petrovna Nacharova was naturalized on October 8, she also works at the Latin American Biotechnology Laboratory installed in Nicaragua.
Likewise, it has granted nationality to Salvadoran officials persecuted for corruption in their country, including former presidents Mauricio Funes and Salvador Sánchez Cerén, as well as the relatives of those politicians.
Ortega also ratified the Nicaraguan nationality to the American Sozan Adli Mosa Saed, daughter of the Jordanian businessman, naturalized Nicaraguan, Adli Musa Farhood, pointed out by the former United States ambassador in Nicaragua, Paul Trivelli, of being part of a group of six Palestinian businessmen who live in Nicaragua supposedly linked to money laundering, smuggling, human trafficking and the collection of funds for violent organizations such as the radical movement Hamas, according to a journalistic note of El Nuevo Diario (END) of April 2011.
