President Alberto Fernández took him, this Wednesdayswore in Daniel Scioli as Minister of Productive Development and called for the “maximum unity” and the “maximum effort of each Argentine” before a scenario that will be conditioned by the “international situation”, in reference to the war in Ukraine.
Leading the inauguration ceremony at the Casa Rosada Bicentennial Museum, the president stated that “The world is experiencing a unique moment in its history, at a time marked by an enormous misfortune such as the pandemic and by a management that preceded us and left us with very serious problems”, he said, referring to the administration of former President Mauricio Macri.
To these factors, the President added a “war of dimensions that we still do not know”, alluding to the armed conflict in Ukraine.
However, he highlighted the protection provided by the State during the pandemic and the “recovery” of the economy, two factors that he attributed to the management of former Minister of Productive Development Matías Kulfas.
Fernández vindicated the figure of Kulfas, whom he had asked to resign at the beginning of the month, for “all the effort, strength and what he did during this time.”
The president pointed out that the Frente de Todos (FdT) “needs the maximum unity” and affirmed that the Government requires the “maximum effort of each Argentine” in a scenario that will be conditioned by the “international situation.”
Fernández thus called for “recovering wages, improving income distribution and ending the greed of earning in a short time what the opportunity allows us to earn in a short time,” in addition to understanding that “no society grows if we don’t all grow.”
He also stated that to meet these objectives “no one is left over and we all need it.”
“We are all involved in this task: those who produce, those who work and the State. What I need now is that we all understand the risk we have when the Pope (Francis) himself tells us that we are in the presence of the third world war” warned the President.
For its part, Scioli thanked the President for the “trust placed” and affirmed that “he will honor the task with a high degree of responsibility, working tirelessly for a developed and inclusive Argentina”.
Fernández also dedicated words of recognition to the new head of the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI), Agustín Rossi, and to the former head of that agency, Cristina Caamaño.
The event, which took place at the Bicentennial Museum, had some 300 guests.
