Next June 26 there will be an ‘Open Doors Day’ in Panama Viejo

The Panama Viejo Board has organized the “Open Doors Day”, with free admission for nationals and residents, for Sunday, June 26, in commemoration of the month of the environment.

On the last Sunday of each month, the Panama Viejo Board, of which the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) is a part, organizes these “Open Doors” days, as a contribution to national culture and knowledge of our identity.

The entrance to the historic site is located at the Visitor Center, next to the Morelos statue.

At this point, the internal transport costs $1.00 and the tour begins, which includes visits to the Archaeological Site, its monuments, the viewpoint of the Cathedral with 115 steps to its last level, and the Museum of the Plaza Mayor Samuel Lewis. Garcia de Paredes.

Guided tours of the museum will be held at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The museum located next to the Cathedral, has several exhibition rooms, among which are: pre-Hispanic room, colonial room, piracy room, religious art room and the newly opened room of the Jewish presence in Panama, and the recreation of a colonial house from the 18th century.
