For more than two months, in much of the country, there has been a serious problem, due to the shortage of gasoilwhich mainly affects the agricultural industry.
In this regard, the president of the Argentine Federation of Cargo Transport Business Entities (FADEEAC), Roberto Guarnieri, pointed out that the more days go by the fuel scarce in more provinces, because, even, it is already lacking in gasoil in Patagonia, where the supply was normal.
From the FADEEAC they reported that in 19 provinces there is a shortage of gasoil, forcing carriers to remain stranded on routes until they can refuel.
To try to deal with the situation, YPF announced last week that the sale of gasoil vehicles with foreign patents, which will also pay a higher price per liter.
Despite this, carriers fear the worst, because, without fuel, food, raw materials, supplies and other implements and items necessary for daily life cannot be transported.
Likewise, the drivers assure that national vehicles are also charged more for the load, which aggravates the situation, “they give you 100 liters but if you need more they charge you more. In some places they do not even give an invoice for the sale. You can’t charge more than what comes out, which is $130,” Guarnieri said.
And he added, “every day there is less fuel and more and more trucks are stopped waiting to load and continue their journey. We have been in this situation for more than 70 days. We have been severely punished because the lack of diesel makes it very difficult for the carrier.”
The lack of diesel hits the entire productive sector
While shippers wait for a solution, the shortage of gas has the entire productive sector on edge, which in the future it could generate a food shortage in some areas of the country.
This, since without the hydrocarbon supply, the truckers cannot take their products to their destination. Even the producers have little burden to harvest the crops, since the sector alone consumes almost a quarter of the gasoil at the national level.
