The Permanent Commission of National Ephemeris reported that today, Tuesday, June 14, he will commemorate with various acts the 63rd anniversary of the Constanza, Maimón and Estero Hondo Expedition of 1959, to honor the memory of the group of expeditionaries recognized as “The Immortal Race”one of the determining factors that led to the execution of Trujillo on May 30, 1961.
The events will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Monument to the Heroes of Constanza, Maimón and Estero Hondo, in the Heroes Centerwith the raising of the flags of the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, the United States, Spain, Venezuela and Cuba, and interpretation of the National Anthem by the Army Music Band.

Later, the deposit of floral offerings will be made by the representatives of public and private institutions, to the beat of the bugle call.
At 5:00 in the afternoon a second act is contemplated, which will begin with the interpretation of the National Anthem, by the Judiciary Choir and the anthem of the Dominican Liberation Movement, as well as a religious invocation. There will also be the musical under the general direction of Aidita Selman.

In the act Ysabel Vargas, Camila Rodriguez and Jose Horacio Rodriguez, on behalf of the Heroes of Constanza Foundation, Maimón and Estero Hondo offered welcoming remarks. At 5:00 in the afternoon a plaque was unveiled in honor.
The historian Juan Daniel Balcacermember of the Dominican Academy of Historystates that the expeditions of June of 1959 left an invaluable and transcendental legacy for later generations of Dominicans as an example of the struggle and conquest for public freedoms.
