Government values ​​return to classes in Quintero and Puchuncaví after contamination: “We are going to keep the schools open, and we are going to suspend the operations of these companies”

The Government Spokesperson Minister, Camila Vallejovalued the return to classes in the districts of Quintero and Puchuncaví after the environmental alerts that affected the district after the concentration of sulfur was detected in the Codelco Division Ventanas Plant.

At the press point held every Monday at the Palacio de La Moneda, Vallejo indicated that “the first measure that we push as an executive is to demand precautionary measures.”

However, he maintained that “the deterioration of the sector has been going on for decades and that it is time to take concrete actions in the short, medium and long term to prevent this from happening again.”

“We will continue working this week in meetings both with the companies, as well as with the community and its authorities,” he explained.

Finally, he specified that “to give the peace of mind that we are going to keep the schools open and if something has to be suspended, it is the operations of the companies.”
