Deputies expelled from Cambio Democrático will appeal the decision of the Court of Honor

After the Court of Honor and Discipline of the Cambio Democrático (CD) party decided to revoke the mandate and expel 15 deputies from their group for “treason”, those affected assured that they will appeal the decision.
According to deputy Yanibel Ábrego, one of the defendants, the 15 expelled had their rights violated since this was a flawed and illegal process.
Abrego pointed out that they will exhaust all the channels established by the procedure within the party and if they do not obtain a satisfactory answer, they will go before the Electoral Court and that it be before this instance that the future of the 15 deputies be decided.
He pointed out that this process was orchestrated by the current president of the CD, Rómulo Roux, and assured that the reason is that he “is afraid” of going to the primaries with a competition such as the 15 deputies and their team.

He stressed that the deputies sanctioned this morning want to make an alliance with the Realizing Goals party, led by the former president of the CD, Ricardo Martinelli, while Roux wants to ally himself with the Panameñistas and that is where the differences come from.

The president of the Assembly Crispiano Adames attended the press conference held by the 15 deputies of the CD and assured that he shows his support for his colleagues as president of the legislative chamber.

Adames stressed that events like these violate the party and also the democracy and representation that the deputies have before those who elected them at the polls, “it is an unequivocal sign of those who violate the political rights of Panamanians,” he said.
