Senator Patrick Kemper (Let’s Party) presented a bill that aims to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and reduce the term for obtaining the title to 30 days, through a single digital procedure.
Kemper stated that the proposal seeks to correct the “absurd” bureaucracy that exists today for obtaining undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, mainly in the faculties of the National Universities of Paraguay and their headquarters. “With this project, we seek to do justice to the thousands of graduates who sacrificed many years to achieve their degree and with them have greater opportunities to work and grow the country,” he said.
The legislator and president of the Hagamos Party explained that the project aims to establish a single administrative procedure, digitally, for the students received, in addition to a unified fee as far as possible, so that “management saves time, money and eliminates the need physical presence for this procedure, which can be done electronically”.
“The idea is that the presentation of the documentation is entirely in digital format and the payment of fees through electronic payment collection networks. It is also important that the monitoring of the process be in real time. Our project is supported by the request of graduates who currently wait between six months and even up to two years in some cases, which is crazy and an attack on the dignity of professionals”, he pointed out.
He added that 50% of the procedures for obtaining a degree require three or more visits to the university, and only half are resolved in a single day. “Therefore, this bill aims to remedy this inconvenience that still exists today,” he added.
