Some 1,624 new cases of covid-19 were registered by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) during the weekend.
The agency reported that 706 infections were reported last Saturday, while 918 were detected yesterday, with Santiago de los Caballeros being the province that reported the most infected, identifying 182 affected by the disease.
The entity said that daily positivity stood at 18.77 percent, that of the last four weeks at 9.18, and that there are 3,147 active cases.
He reported that Sars Cov 2 has left 591 thousand 682 infections; Of these, he indicated that 70 thousand 791 correspond to children under 20 years of age, 2 thousand 330 to health workers and 1,885 to pregnant women.
Regarding deaths, he stated that the pathology has taken the lives of 4,380 people, noting that 23.11 percent of the deceased suffered from hypertension and 14.45 percent suffered from diabetes.

The occupation of hospital beds to provide medical treatment to those suffering from the disease is at 8.2 percent, with 194 used of the 2,373 available.

Senén Caba tests positive for the virus
