The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) delivered 7 million pesos to the La Ceiba Corn Producers Cooperativein San Juan de la Maguana, for the completion of a grain processing plant, which seeks to face a possible shortage due to the food crisis that occurs in some countries after Russia’s war with Ukraine.
The delivery of the economic incentive was made by the president of the FEDAHecmilio Galván, who pointed out that the processing of corn It is a strategic mission entrusted by President Luis Abinader, to reduce the international impact of the crisis and thus guarantee food for human consumption as well as for farm animals.
The entity reported, in a press release, that the delivery of funds to the La Ceiba Corn Producers Cooperative will make the completion of the shelling plant a reality corn and that the community will achieve its economic development through this cereal as raw material for the preparation of balanced meals.
The contribution was received by the president of the cooperative, Benito Bidó, during a ceremony held in the town of La Ceiba de Pedro Corto, where representatives of the association expressed their gratitude for the financial contribution.
