From July 14 to 17, the Paraguayan Association of Brahman Breeders (APCB) invites the World Brahman Congress, which will be held for the first time in Paraguay. The event will feature the presence of international references from the Brahman world, conferences, meetings of breeders, judgements, auctions, exhibitions, field trips and a great celebration open to the general public and for the whole family: Brahman Beef Day, an occasion on which will present the new Brahman Beef meat, packaged by Frigorífico Neuland.
The Brahman race is the only one present in the five continents. In Paraguay, its breeding has been promoted since 1965. Since then, the Paraguayan Association of Brahman Breeders has guided the standard of excellence of the breed in the country. “We highlight an animal that has been recognized for its rusticity; its ability to produce on marginal lands and, therefore, even more so on land with better conditions; its ability to live longer and its incredible efficiency of converting food into meat. Rigid and careful selection from the beginning resulted in the most efficient meat-producing breed adapted to all climates of the world and, especially, to tropical climates. Brahman, the tool race!” expressed Martín Arce, manager of the APCB.
Thus, the Association crowns this 2022 with this important event that will have an extensive schedule of activities, including the launch of the book Green Light for Red Meat, a guide to healthy eating of the renowned Brazilian doctor and nutritionist Wilson Rondó Jr.
Every two years, the event brings together producers, entrepreneurs, students and the public from around the world, with the aim of promoting the development and production vision, as well as promoting the expansion of the breed. On this occasion, it will take place from July 14 to 17 in Asunción, in Mariano Roque Alonso, and then from July 18 to 20 with tours of ranches in the Paraguayan Chaco, the region with the greatest livestock expansion and where the breed is gaining ground thanks their adaptation to adverse climates.
Some of the topics to be discussed during the meeting are: Holistic Management: Regenerate the land and increase profits; Ruminating Global Change: Adaptation and Sustainable Meat in Paraguay; The Brahman Breed: A vision of its genetic contribution to world livestock; Green light for red meat. A new light on healthy eating; Y Brahman Beef: The tasty journey of our branded meat.
These topics will be in charge of the exhibitors, among them the foreigners Wilson Rondó Jr. (Brazil), Claudio Fioretti (Argentina) and Allan Savory (Zimbabwe), and the nationals Mario Pereira and Norman Breuer. Judges Steve and Collin Hudgins from Texas (United States), owners of JD Hudgins, an important Brahman genetics herd, are also expected to arrive. countryside.
On the other hand, the organizers announced that the stands of numerous national brands, as well as genetics from countries such as Mexico, the United States and Colombia.
The World Congress in Paraguay already has confirmed delegations from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Germany, South Africa, the Philippines, Thailand and Australia.
Activities calendar
The welcome lunch is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, at 12:00, in the Germán Ruiz room of the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP), located in the Mariano Roque Alonso Expo site. The appointment on Friday, July 15 will start in the central arena of the ARP, at 08:00, where the judgments will be held. The conferences are scheduled for Saturday, July 16, from 08:00, in the Bicentennial room in the Torres del Paseo (Avenida Sta. Teresa almost Aviadores del Chaco); Later, at 8:00 p.m., the participants will go to the Enrique Riera room of the ARP, where they will participate in the “Auction of the Stars”.
Finally, on Sunday July 17, from 11:00, the Association invites the whole family to Brahman Beef Day, a fair of grills, music, judging, exhibitions and auctions open to the public, at Rodeo SA (Ruta Transchaco km 16, Mariano Roque Alonso).
