The Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) will promote an anti-NATO summit in response to the NATO summit to be held June 28-30 in Madrid, Spain. The Venezuelan meeting was announced by the deputy of the Chavista National Assembly Julio Chávez, who is a member of the International Committee of the “No more NATO” campaign.
“Different types of conferences will be held: forums, meetings, talks, rallies, public events, and proposals will be collected that will feed the document that the Latin American delegations will take in August to a World Summit Against Fascism organized by the Russian Federation », specified Chavez.
Julio Chavez told the Russian news agency Sputnik that «Táchira will be the Latin American capital of the NATO Counter Summit [Organización del Tratado del Atlántico Norte]on June 28 and 29 ».
This summit will be held in San Cristóbal, capital of the state of Táchira, bordering Colombia, taking into account that this neighboring country wants to become a member of the Atlantic Alliance.
“It is carried out in Táchira because an attempt was made to penetrate Venezuelan territory there (…) and because Colombia is the new global partner of NATO and it is through that border of the state of Táchira, where the mercenary aggression against Venezuela has been attempted,” assured the Deputy Julio Chavez.
For Chávez, the protest activity is intended to stop the militarist campaign that, in his opinion, is being promoted by the United States and the European Union.
In addition, Julio Chávez pointed out that this protest activity will also take place in countries such as Belgium, Spain, and said that they hope that other Latin American nations will join. In the parliamentarian’s opinion, “the warmongering policy of the United States, the European Union and its allies in the West must be stopped because it carries with it the message of death, destruction, as is intended to be done in Eastern Europe, with Russia, China and the countries in the world that are pushing for multipolarity as their military objective. for a more humane world to strengthen and consolidate peace».
