After 4 days of searching rescue agencies confirmed the discovery of the lifeless body of Jorge Garzón, the man who was missing after being dragged by the rising of the La Comunidad creek in the municipality of Amagá, southwest of Antioquia.
According to Juan Fernando Chaverra, Secretary of Government of this locality, the body was found by a peasant from the neighboring municipality of Titiribí that in the morning hours of June 11, he gave notice to the authorities who came to carry out the respective identification tasks.

The search efforts carried out from the moment the events occurred, product of the heavy rains that have occurred in recent daysThey were accompanied by members of the fire departments of Amagá, Angelópolis, Sabaneta, the Civil Defense and the Administrative Department of Risk Management of Antioquia (Dagran).
“Using a drone we did a sweep along the entire bank of the tributary and in turn with some dogs we prioritized for the search some areas that they had markedwe took a retro to inspect the site and it was ruled out,” added the Secretary of Government about the steps taken over these days.
The emergency that occurred on June 7 It also caused flooding in the municipal hospital, the headquarters of some municipal offices and homes in urban and rural areas.. In addition, two bridges collapsed and there were multiple landslides that isolated nine villages, of which only three continue with this situation.
Due to the rains of the last few hours in this area, there are still difficulties on the Amagá-Bolombolo road due to falling material in three different sectors of the corridor: kilometers 76+800 (La Cepa sector), 77+750 (La Huesera) and 79+800 (Amagá).
As alternative routes, the authorities have suggested taking the Medellín – Santa Fe de Antioquia – Bolombolo stretch for freight vehicles and the Camilo C-Venecia-Bolombolo road for cars.
