For the journalist Alberto Miranda, a former collaborator of one of the print media in tabloid format in Nicaragua, this new attack by the Ortega government adds to the censorship that has been taking place against all independent media.

“This is part of the onslaught of the Ortega and Murillo dictatorial regime against the independent press in Nicaragua. Ortega’s dictatorship has cut off all the printed media in the country, first the Nuevo Diario, then it took over the newspaper La Prensa and now they are going with this communication medium (Trinchera de la Noticia) which, although it was a small medium, but had his printing press and informed the people of Nicaragua,” he added.
